Duke of Gloucester Dinner Service

New to Fiona Finds we present this colourful and classic dinner service. The service consists of dinner plates, dessert plates, a tureen and its platter, and soup bowl with its saucer.

This extraordinary pattern, featuring twenty colours and 22k gold, is one of the finest manifestations of the Rococo style. The design incorporates colorful fruit and imaginary insects within a rim of green enamel and gold flecking. The dinner service was originally made for William Henry, Duke of Gloucester, circa 1770.
