As a lifelong lover of fashion, interiors and textiles; Fiona Dreesmann branched out into the world of homes in 2016, curating some of the most beautifully curated collectibles. For those who have kept close tabs Fiona was the one behind the eponymously chic velvet footwear brand My Slippers. Seamlessly moving from fashion to homewares, her passion for the home has been borne out of her love for collecting interesting items and keepsakes from her travels. Fiona Finds has a by appointment showroom in Chelsea and a fully-fledged and transactional e-tailing site and a small space with the diffusion line in Elys in Wimbledon and Camp Hopson in Newbury.
Fiona’s career in fashion and the luxury goods industry has nurtured her innate talent for finding the best and staying ahead of the trends. Her thirst for seeking out the unusual is apparent on her site and all the products she selects. She works on the basis that a house should feel ‘collected’ not decorated.
Fiona Finds is exactly as the name suggests – beautiful items and ever -changing collections to reflect seasonal changes and to ensure her clients are always kept on point.
Her style icons are Mario Buatta, Marella Agnelli and Catherine The Great! Apparently, she was an early adopter of fascinating collectibles who sent scouts ahead of her around the globe to bring their bounty back to mother Russia!
Fiona’s tastes span the globe, where she ekes out pottery and plates from the lesser known vendors, to the old-fashioned style glamour of entertaining in the mountains where bone handle shoe horns and Murano glass are a staple, to traditional English with fine bone hand painted china.
She counsels that the best advice she has been given, is to always buy the best quality you can afford. It will last much longer than cheaper alternatives. As for a top tip to avoid, cheap linen is a no no in Fiona’s household – go for maximum thread-count all the way. Crisp green and white are her preferred colour palettes and she insists that a house is not a home unless it’s filled with fresh flowers. She divides her time between London and Sussex and is mother to triplets, Stanley her much loved pug and Pebble the tortoise.
